Jorge Pardo Mocambo Quintet
JORGE PARDO
One of the foremost sax/flute latin players in the world, his is considered a creative innovator of both flamenco and jazz and was a member of the legendary Paco de Lucia Sextet. Among his several collaborations: Chick Corea (in his recent world tours), Camaron de la Isla, Tomatito, Vince Mendoza and others, with whom he also recorded for labels such as Blue Note and Milestone.
JULIO BARRETO
A drummer from Cuba, he recorded for Blue Note the 4 albums for the pianist Gonzalo Rubalcaba which gained 2 Grammy nominations and the Gold Premium in Japan. He also played with Chucho Valdes, Omar Sosa, Steve Coleman ect. He is a teacher at the prestigious Jazzschool in Basel.
MIRKO SIGNORILE
He appears among the best Italian pianists in the rankings drawn by the magazine Muisca Jazz and Radio Rai. He played with Dave Liebman, Greg Osby, Nicola Conte, Paolo Fresu etc. He published solo albums with the labels EMI, Soul Note, Stradivarius.
ALFREDO PAIXAO
Brasilian bassist and singer. In his career he won 4 Grammy Awards and gained 6 nominations. His peculiar style contributed to the sound of artists such as Pino Daniele. He played with Cobham, Henry Salvador, Laura Pausini, Vinnie Colaiuta, Ornella Vanoni, Peter Erskine, Liza Minnelli etc.
GILSON SILVEIRA
Brasilian prcussionist. After playing with various artists, in his own country in 1985 he moved to Italy where he started to collaborate with artists such as Celso Machado, Ziryab, Balen Lopez de Munain, Farafina, José Feliciano, T. De Piscopo, F. Mussida, Sergio Caputo, Ana Torroja, Miguel Bosé and others.
